ABOUT
Jasmine De Anda is a sculptor based in San Diego, California, with a practice centered on ceramics and sculpture. She earned her Associate of Arts degree from Southwestern College and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in sculpture at San Diego State University. Her work explores two ongoing areas of interest: the natural world and the depth of human emotion. Some of her pieces focus on animals and ecological themes, while others examine personal and collective emotional experiences.
De Anda is especially drawn to forms that feel familiar yet carry deeper meaning—whether it’s the way animals adapt to urban spaces or how tenderness and grief can take shape in material form. Her process is thoughtful and intentional, often involving handbuilding techniques and surface experimentation. She approaches her work with care and emotional clarity, creating sculptural pieces that reflect the subjects she feels most connected to.
